Gr4vy review: products, technology and pricing (2026)

Gr4vy is a cloud payment orchestration platform that lets enterprise merchants and platforms connect to many payment providers, payment methods and fraud tools through one integration. It says it is not a PSP itself, runs each customer on a dedicated cloud instance and publishes a detailed developer changelog.

Gr4vy is a cloud-based payment orchestration platform for enterprise merchants and platforms. One integration gives a business access to multiple payment service providers, payment methods and anti-fraud tools, so providers can be added or swapped without rebuilding checkout. The company describes itself as infrastructure rather than a payment service provider, and each customer runs on a dedicated cloud instance.

How the platform works

Gr4vy sits between a merchant's checkout and the merchant's own payment providers. The merchant keeps its contracts with acquirers and PSPs; Gr4vy supplies the layer that decides which connection handles each payment. Our guide to payment orchestration covers the general model.

Three features define the design, as described on the company's home page and launch announcement:

  • Dedicated instances. At launch in April 2021, Gr4vy said each retailer gets individual cloud infrastructure, deployable across regions and at the edge. The home page today still describes the product as infrastructure as a service with dedicated cloud instances.
  • A rules engine called Flow. According to the developer documentation, Flow controls which payment options appear at checkout, how card and non card transactions are routed and retried, and which payments are rejected. The rules are also exposed through the API. The launch post described a no code workflow engine that could route by country, currency or time and reroute during provider downtime.
  • A vault. Gr4vy stores card data as tokens that are not tied to one provider, so a merchant can change PSP without re-collecting cards. The documentation covers tokenising cards, provisioning PSP tokens, forwarding card data to a merchant's own endpoints (Vault Forward) and importing tokens from another provider. For background see payment vaults and tokenisation explained.

The docs also describe network token support, including lifecycle management and pass through of tokens a merchant provisions itself. Our network tokenisation guide explains the concept, and the 3-D Secure guide covers the authentication step Gr4vy lists among its features.

Products

The home page (modified 15 October 2026) lists seven product areas.

Acceptance and Checkout

Acceptance covers card processing, alternative payment methods and recurring payments. Checkout is built around Embed, a hosted payment selector placed inside the merchant's checkout page, which the launch post said reflects payment method settings without code changes.

Optimize

Optimize groups routing, fraud tooling, unified analytics and automated payment workflows. The company claims up to 14% of revenue can be recovered from failed payments, 99.99% platform uptime and a lift of 3% or more in authorisation rates from a multiple PSP strategy. These figures carry no date or method on the page and are the company's own claims. For the mechanics of retries, see payment routing and cascading retries.

Vault, Analytics and Platforms

Vault is the vendor neutral data store described above. Analytics provides a dashboard and custom reports, and the changelog shows a redesign of the insights dashboard toolbar on 8 October 2026. Platforms is a white label offering for software platforms and their sub-merchants, and the API reference includes merchant account and payout objects that support that model.

Agentic Commerce

The home page lists an Agentic Developer Kit for launching storefronts and orchestrating transactions initiated by software agents. The page does not date this product or give usage figures.

Developer experience and integrations

The documentation index shows a broad developer surface:

Area What the docs list
Client SDKs Web (Embed), Android, iOS, React Native
Server SDK changelogs C#, Go, Java, PHP, Python, TypeScript, Swift, Kotlin
API objects Transactions, buyers, checkout sessions, payment links, payouts, refunds, settlements, disputes, gift cards, payment methods, digital wallets, connections, merchant accounts, reports, webhook subscriptions
Standards OpenAPI 3.1.0 specification, API keys and JWT authentication, idempotent requests
Tools CLI, Postman collection, sandbox simulators for transactions, webhooks, gift cards and anti fraud
Environments Sandbox and Production within each instance

The Embed quick start has five steps: create an API key, generate a client token with a server side SDK, add Embed, process the transaction, then switch to production.

Payment methods, currencies and coverage

Gr4vy says it connects to more than 400 payment methods and anti-fraud providers (home page and About page, 2026). It does not publish a country list or a currency list on the pages reviewed. The Q3 2026 release notes show how coverage grows in practice:

Item (Q3 2026) Detail
PayPal card and Venmo via PayPal Card acquiring through PayPal; Venmo for US buyers
Sezzle Buy now, pay later for US and Canadian merchants
Chase Orbital (ACH) Bank debit from US and Canadian buyers
Ryft Card payments for marketplaces and platforms
Finix (Apple Pay) Apple Pay for US and Canadian merchants
DuitNow on Adyen Real time payments in Malaysia for existing Adyen merchants

Named connections elsewhere in the notes include Adyen, Checkout.com, Cybersource, Shift4, Stripe and Braintree. See our Adyen and Stripe profiles for the providers themselves.

Pricing model

Gr4vy does not publish prices on the pages reviewed. The home page links to an ROI calculator rather than a rate card, which suggests quote based enterprise pricing. Anyone comparing vendors should ask for the pricing basis (per transaction, platform fee or volume tiers) and whether provider fees are billed separately, since the merchant keeps its own PSP contracts.

The blog listing (modified 18 September 2026) also shows partnership posts with Airwallex and Unlimit, and customer announcements from Sweetwater, Pure Interactive, Wizlo and Much Better Adventures. The listing does not show their publication dates, so we have not dated them.

Regulation in brief

Gr4vy states on its home page that it is not a payment service provider, and the privacy policy (company name Gr4vy Inc.) makes no statement about financial licences. The home page FAQ says the platform is PCI DSS Level 1 compliant. Because a merchant's PSPs and acquirers hold their own authorisations, it is worth checking which regulated entity handles funds in each setup. Our guide on how to check a financial licence explains how.

Who it tends to suit

Gr4vy is commonly used by mid to large merchants and platforms that already work with several PSPs, or plan to, and want routing, tokenisation and reporting under their own control. Developer teams that value a wide SDK range and a visible changelog may find the documentation approach useful. Merchants wanting a single bundled acquirer relationship may look elsewhere. Neutral side by side reading is available in Gr4vy vs Spreedly and Primer vs Gr4vy, and our gateways hub lists related profiles.
