IXOPAY is a payment infrastructure company that unifies payment orchestration, TokenEx tokenisation and payments analytics. It says it connects merchants to more than 200 PSPs and 300 payment methods, and it has grown through mergers with TokenEx (2024) and Aperia Compliance (2024).

IXOPAY is a payment infrastructure provider that joins payment orchestration, tokenisation and payments analytics in one platform. Merchants connect once and route payments across many PSPs and payment methods, while card data is held as tokens that can move between processors. Its tokenisation business comes from TokenEx, which merged with IXOPAY in April 2024.

How the platform works

IXOPAY exposes one API to a merchant and holds connections, called adapters, to PSPs and acquirers. The company's product page lists these elements:

  • Routing. Transactions can be routed by cost, customer details, geography or risk class, with cascading retries through other providers. See payment routing and cascading retries.
  • Checkout and capture. SDKs for mobile apps, hosted payment pages, hosted fields (Payment.js) to limit PCI scope, and a server to server API for merchants that handle card data themselves.
  • Reconciliation and fees. Automated reconciliation and settlement across PSPs, plus a fee management engine that calculates external fees and commissions in real time and feeds routing decisions.
  • Risk. Merchants set verification criteria and combine them into risk profiles applied to each transaction.
  • Tokenisation. Universal Tokens work across in person and online channels and across processors, so a stored credential is not tied to one PSP. Our guides to vaults and tokenisation and network tokenisation explain the ideas.

The developer guides show a REST transaction API with debit, preauthorize, capture, void, refund, payout, register and deregister transaction types.

Products

Payment orchestration

The core module group is Intelligent Routing, Risk and Fraud Services, Reconciliation and Settlement, Payment Adapters and a White Label Solution.

TokenEx tokenisation packages

On 20 January 2026 IXOPAY launched three packages. Core combines Network Tokens for card on file and recurring payments with Universal Tokens for portability across processors. Connect adds pre built integrations with 20+ PSPs so a merchant can change provider without re-vaulting. Alternative Payments gives access to methods such as PayPal, Venmo, Skrill and Klarna. The release also added PIX in Brazil through a partnership with dLocal.

Card lifecycle modules

A modular suite: Account Updater, Network Tokens, BIN Lookup, point to point encryption, 3DS (see 3-D Secure explained), PAR and Acquirer PCI Tools. These are sold standalone or as part of the full platform.

Payments Intelligence and IXONav

Announced 2 June 2026: a control centre combining payment data across PSPs (performance, fees, approvals), anomaly detection, BI ready data sharing and monitoring, plus IXONav, an AI assistant for recommendations.

Agentic Suite

Announced 8 September 2026: a Payment Agent that links AI shopping experiences to a merchant's existing payment systems, Universal Tokens that store agent identity, consent and purchase intent alongside the credential, and an MCP server giving approved AI assistants controlled access to supported functions.

Developer experience and integrations

Documentation sits at documentation.ixopay.com, with a getting started section, a testing guide, and an adapter directory at adapters.ixopay.com. Integration routes are hosted payment pages, Payment.js hosted fields, pay by link and the direct PCI enabled API. The guides page we opened did not mention SDK languages or use the word sandbox, so check the testing guide for environment details.

Payment methods, currencies and coverage

IXOPAY states connections to more than 200 PSPs and 300 payment methods (CEO announcement and product page, 2026). Its FAQ cites 500+ providers, acquirers and methods, and the August 2026 release cites more than 500 payment adapters, so the counting basis differs between pages. The same release says that in 2025 the platform orchestrated US$171bn in payment volume, secured over 2.1bn tokens and supported 1.6m merchants. The company page quotes a different figure, US$40bn, with no date. Named customers include Aer Lingus, Delivery Hero, DHL Express, Kiwi.com and Volkswagen. No country or currency list is published on the pages reviewed.

Pricing model

The product page publishes no prices and points to a sales call. A separate vault page (undated) lists plans: Starter at €199 per month (beta, 1 merchant, 3 adapters), Growth at €499 per month (beta, 3 merchants, 5 adapters) and Enterprise by quote. It also lists card vaulting at €0.02 per card per month, card updater at €0.20 per updated record and risk checks at €0.015 per check, with a 7 day trial. Because the page has no date and may describe an older product, confirm current terms with IXOPAY. The page states that IXOPAY is a technical platform and does not provide a merchant account.

Corporate history from the About page: merger with TokenEx on 17 April 2024 and with Aperia Compliance on 4 December 2024, which extended PCI compliance services for platforms, ISOs, ISVs and PSPs.

Regulation in brief

IXOPAY describes its vault as PCI DSS Level 1 compliant and its 3DS product as PCI 3DS certified (vault page). It says it is a technical platform and not a merchant account provider, so regulated acquirers and PSPs connected through it hold the payment authorisations. The company page does not claim a licence. See how to check a financial licence.

Who it tends to suit

IXOPAY is commonly used by mid to large merchants, platforms and acquirers that want orchestration and tokenisation from one vendor, including those needing in person and online token portability. Teams that need only a vault or only routing may compare Spreedly, Gr4vy or APEXX Global. The gateways hub lists more.
