Products and services
Business account and transfers
Airwallex gives businesses local account details to receive funds in 20+ currencies and lets them pay out in 60+ currencies to 200+ countries, according to its Singapore site (accessed 3 November 2026). It says 93% of its global transfers arrive the same day; the page does not state the period this covers. Accounts link to Xero, QuickBooks, Amazon and Shopify.
Online and in-person payments
The payments product covers a hosted checkout, payment links, plugins for Shopify, WooCommerce and Magento, a full API and POS acceptance. Airwallex says it supports 160+ local payment methods, accepts payments in 130+ currencies from 180+ countries and runs local acquiring in 35+ markets (Singapore site, accessed 3 November 2026). Methods named include Visa, Mastercard, American Express, UnionPay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Klarna, Alipay, WeChat Pay, GrabPay and FPX. Merchants can settle in the currency the customer paid in. For background on wallets and local methods, see our alternative payment methods explainer.
Spend: cards and expenses
Airwallex issues Visa corporate cards. In Singapore, company cards are virtual only, while employee cards come as virtual or physical and work with Apple Pay and Google Pay. Card spend draws on held currency balances, which avoids conversion where a balance exists. The Singapore page says the banking platform runs in partnership with licensed banks but does not name the card issuer. Our cards hub explains how programme managers and issuers split roles.
Yield
In Singapore, Yield is provided by Airwallex Capital (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. under its capital markets services licence. In Australia, the product disclosure statement for Airwallex Yield is issued by K2 Asset Management Ltd (AFSL 244 393), according to Airwallex's Australian financial services guide (last updated September 2022). Because Yield is provided under capital markets and investment licences, the product documents for your market are the place to read how it works.
Platform APIs
Airwallex sells its accounts, payments, FX and treasury functions to software companies through a platform API with custom pricing.

Note on Malaysia: the help centre gives the money services business licence number as 00767, while the footer of Airwallex's Malaysian site gives 00743, valid until 17 December 2027. We have not resolved the difference; the Bank Negara Malaysia directory is the place to check. UK and Singapore entries can be checked on the FCA register and the MAS directory, as set out in our guide on how to check a financial licence.
Who it tends to suit
Airwallex is commonly used by small and mid-sized businesses that trade across borders and want to hold several currencies, pay suppliers abroad and issue cards from one account. Online sellers in Asia Pacific may find its local methods and acquiring footprint relevant, and software platforms may look at its embedded finance API. Businesses comparing multi-currency accounts often look at Wise, Revolut and Payoneer; those mainly after card acceptance and payouts across emerging markets may compare Rapyd. Our Wise vs Revolut comparison covers two of the closest alternatives.
