CellPoint Digital is a payment orchestration company built for airlines, hospitality groups and travel retailers. Its platforms let a merchant connect to many acquirers and payment methods through one integration, and add travel specific functions such as split payments across parties, ticket change and refund handling, and links to airline distribution systems.

How the platform works
CellPoint's orchestration platform is a payment layer between a travel merchant's booking systems and its payment providers. The merchant integrates once. CellPoint then handles routing, authentication, fraud screening and settlement data across the acquirers and methods the merchant has contracted. Routing uses AI and machine learning, according to the Velocity page, and the OSO page lists routing by issuer, geography and cost, local acquirer routing and automatic failover across PSPs.
For readers new to the term, this overlaps with a cashier, the hosted payment layer that lets a merchant plug into many providers; see our guides on what a payment cashier is and cashier versus payment orchestration. The company's own history dates its orchestration platform to 2014, launched with Emirates.
Products
Velocity
Velocity is the longer standing platform. The company groups its functions into three families: Payment Orchestration (hosted payment page, reporting and analytics, intelligent routing, payment ecosystem), Payment Optimisation (fraud management, payment reconciliation) and Embedded Finance (alternative payment methods, FX optimisation). It says Velocity is PSP and acquirer agnostic, so a carrier can build its own network of acquiring banks.
One Source Orchestration (OSO)
Launched on 22 September 2025, OSO is described as built for the airline retail shift to Offer, Order, Settle, Deliver (OOSD). The announcement lists multi party payments, points plus cash bookings, settlement of ancillary sales in different currencies, an alternative payment method hub, a rules engine for forms of payment, dynamic currency conversion and tools for post booking changes and refunds. Pre built connectors cover GDS, CRS, PMS, offer management and airline passenger service systems. The platform can run in single tenant environments with local data storage.
Zenith
The story page says CellPoint launched Zenith in 2026 as an AI decisioning layer for airline and hospitality payments, and the home page describes it as sitting above existing payment technology and orchestrator agnostic. We could not find a dated launch notice, so the month is not stated here.
Developer experience and integrations
The developer documentation describes three integration routes:
| Route | Intended for |
|---|---|
| API | High volume merchants wanting full control of checkout; those above 6 million transactions a year must undergo an on site assessment by Qualified Security Assessors |
| Hosted Payment Page | Merchants under 6 million transactions a year; CellPoint manages front and back end and the compliance burden is lower |
| Custom HPP | Branded pages with CellPoint managing payments; supports marketplaces with branding per seller |
Features listed include fraud detection, 3-D Secure 2.0 (see our 3-D Secure explainer), split payments, instalments, dynamic currency conversion, and airline itinerary data. Integrations with distribution and property systems are covered under OSO above. The pages we opened did not list SDK languages.
Payment methods, currencies and coverage
Company figures differ by page and date, so we give each with its source.
| Source | Claim |
|---|---|
| OSO page (2026) | 168+ payment methods, 220+ PSPs and acquirers, 100+ currencies, 70+ countries |
| Velocity page (2026) | 410+ payment providers (another section says 400+) |
| Cebu Pacific announcement (16 Sep 2020) | 40+ local and global cards, 350+ alternative payment methods |
| OSO announcement (22 Sep 2025) | 10,000 transactions per second, 99.999% uptime, up to 25% better approval rates, flow through gains of 2% to 13% |
| Home page (undated) | 30% lower processing costs, 15% higher approval rates, 50% faster launch of new payment methods |
All are company claims without a stated measurement basis. The story page adds a record of 7.9 million transactions per hour in 2024.
Named customers in the company's releases include Oman Air (working with CellPoint since 2023, per its 9 September 2025 announcement), Cebu Pacific, Beond, Virgin Atlantic and Avianca.
Pricing model
CellPoint does not publish prices. Its terms describe a platform licence under an order form agreed with each merchant, and the terms state CellPoint is not a merchant account provider, so merchants contract separately with acquirers and PSPs. Ask whether fees are per transaction, a platform fee or both.
Recent launches
| Date | Item |
|---|---|
| 9 Sep 2025 | Oman Air announces a new phase of its partnership |
| 22 Sep 2025 | OSO launched |
| 2026 (month not stated) | Zenith launched |
Earlier funding disclosed by the company: US$25m announced on 5 January 2022 from Toscafund and Penta Capital. The story page also lists a US$30m strategic investment in 2024 (investor not named) and a US$34m investment in 2026.
Regulation in brief
CellPoint's terms of service are governed by the law of England and Wales and say that CellPoint is not a merchant account provider. The terms do not state a payment authorisation, and the OSO page says the platform aligns with PCI DSS, GDPR, PSD2 and LGPD. See how to check a financial licence for verifying any licensed partner.
Who it tends to suit
CellPoint is commonly used by airlines, travel groups and hospitality brands with complex booking flows, many currencies and split settlement needs. Merchants outside travel may find general orchestration vendors a closer match, such as APEXX Global or IXOPAY. Browse the gateways hub for more.
