Akurateco review: products, technology and pricing (2026)

Akurateco sells payment software rather than payment processing: a white-label gateway for payment providers and banks, and an orchestration platform for merchants. It can run as SaaS or on the customer's own infrastructure, and it says it is not a payment processor.

Akurateco is a software company that licenses a white-label payment gateway to payment providers, banks and acquirers, and a payment orchestration platform to online merchants. Its own site states that it is not a payment processor and does not process transactions itself, and that its software can run as a hosted service or on the customer's own cloud or servers.

That deployment choice, including on-premises installation in the customer's country, is the most visible difference between Akurateco and hosted-only orchestration vendors in our gateways hub. Readers new to the concept can start with payment orchestration explained.

How the platform works

Akurateco describes its platform as a layer above acquirers, gateways and alternative payment methods. A merchant or payment provider connects once, and the software chooses a provider for each transaction, retries declines through backup channels, tokenises card data and consolidates reporting. The company says it is infrastructure rather than a processor, so the acquirers behind it hold the merchant relationship for settlement.

Routing can be set by BIN, card type, currency, amount, country and payment method. The company also describes optimisation by issuer and card brand, separate routing for Apple Pay and Google Pay transactions, VIP whitelisting that sends trusted customers to chosen merchant IDs, and cascading in which a soft decline is retried on other providers within one payment flow. Analytics track approval rates, declines, latency and route efficiency. Our guide to routing, cascading and retries explains the terms.

Hosting is either SaaS or deployed on a customer-chosen cloud. The page for the on-premises version says it runs on dedicated servers or the customer's own cloud account, with Akurateco handling deployment, configuration and support, and that cardholder data stays in the customer's country. The stated timeline is 30 to 60 days. The same page says Akurateco's platform is certified to PCI DSS v4.0.1 Level 1, while the hosting environment falls in the customer's PCI scope and licensing duties remain with the customer.

Products

White-label payment gateway

Aimed at payment service providers, marketplaces, platforms, banks and acquirers, this product lets a company launch under its own brand. The page lists branded payment pages and admin panel, routing, a dashboard with real-time analytics, a billing module for merchant pricing and fee calculation, an in-house anti-fraud module with third-party options, recurring payments with tokenisation and localised checkout. The company describes a microservices architecture, monthly updates and a dedicated payments team. It does not publish a licensing model.

Payments orchestration platform

For merchants, the platform offers the single integration, routing and retries, network tokenisation, a customisable payment page showing local methods, wallets and buy-now-pay-later options, fraud prevention, recurring payments, Pay by Link and reconciliation that flags mismatched settlement amounts.

Banking infrastructure and on-premises gateway

For banks and acquirers, Akurateco lists merchant onboarding, routing by location, currency or issuer-acquirer matching, a brandable hosted page in 25+ languages, per-merchant pricing and settlements, and migration of existing merchant accounts. Compliance listed includes PSD2, GDPR and PCI DSS. The on-premises page names SAMA, QCB, FRA, MFSA, CySEC and FSC as regulators whose rules may require in-country processing, and says it has six active on-premises clients, with the page listing Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Egypt, Kuwait, Lebanon and Jordan.

Fraud prevention and tokenisation

Fraud tools include whitelists, blacklists and customisable filters (150 configurable filters are cited on the orchestration page), plus external scoring from MaxMind, Ethoca, SiftScience and Verifi, 3D Secure 2.0 support and strategies configurable per merchant, group or MID. See 3D Secure explained. Tokenisation is described as an encrypted vault that supports one-click and recurring payments; the orchestration page separately mentions network tokenisation, which the About page dates to October 2024. See network tokenisation explained and payment vaults and tokenisation.

Developer experience and integrations

Integration options are a mobile SDK, CMS plugins, REST and SOAP APIs, and a hosted payment page, with hosted payment fields built on a JavaScript SDK. The iOS and Android SDKs are available for download, with Huawei and Samsung versions marked as coming soon; the SDK page also mentions QR-code payments and tokenised repeat charges. A documentation site is linked at docs.akurateco.com, but we could not open it, so API details, sandbox access and webhooks are not covered here. Time to go live is described inconsistently across the company's own pages: an average of five business days on the orchestration page, 10 to 20 business days for bank and payment-method integrations, and two to five business days in the routing page. A merchant's own mix of providers will influence this.

Payment methods, currencies and coverage

The Connectors page groups its library into nine categories: anti-fraud providers, reconciliations, acquiring integrations, card schemes, crypto payment methods, mobile wallets, buy-now-pay-later providers, account-to-account methods and local payment methods. It does not name individual providers in the text we could read, and a full list is offered through a demo request. The orchestration page cites 200+ currencies and cryptocurrencies. Recent news items refer to a connector for AllPay (Canadian wallet payments, dated 12 May 2026) and PIX anti-fraud protection with Fraudio for Latin America (20 April 2026), judging from the headlines alone. See alternative payment methods explained.

Pricing model

No prices are published. The white-label page says payment providers can launch with no capital expenditure, because software development, infrastructure upkeep and technical support are handled by Akurateco, but it does not state a fee model. The on-premises page notes that hosted deployment is faster and cheaper upfront when data-residency rules do not apply. A demo request is the route to a quote.

The About page also says processed volume over the prior 12 months passed EUR 1 billion in March 2024.

Claims that vary between pages

The site's marketing figures are not consistent: approval rate gains are given as up to 30 per cent on one page and up to 25 per cent on another, uptime as 99.9 per cent or 99.95 per cent, and cost savings as 30 per cent. None come with a published method. Treat them as sales claims, and ask for evidence in your own volumes.

Regulation in brief

Akurateco states it is not a payment processor and that licensing remains with its customers and their regulators. It reports PCI DSS v4.0.1 Level 1 certification, and the Google Pay Participating Processor status mentioned above. No financial licence of its own is listed on the pages we read. For how to verify a counterparty, see how to check a financial licence.

Who it tends to suit

Akurateco is commonly considered by payment companies that want to run their own branded gateway, by banks and acquirers with data-localisation rules, and by merchants that want an orchestration layer they can host themselves. Those who want a purely hosted service with public pricing may also look at Corefy or BridgerPay, and comparable layers include Payrails and Praxis.
