XTB is a Polish broker, based in Warsaw and listed on the Warsaw Stock Exchange, that offers CFDs alongside real stocks, ETFs and cash savings products through its own xStation platform. Its parent, XTB S.A., holds a Polish brokerage licence dating from 2005, and its subsidiaries are regulated by the FCA in the UK and CySEC in Cyprus.

On 3 November 2026 XTB's UK professional-client page stated that 74% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with XTB Limited, and its Cyprus pages gave 77% for the Cyprus entity. Other XTB UK pages opened the same day showed 72%, 78% and 80%, so the figure on the page in front of you may differ.

Products and services

CFDs

XTB's UK education page lists CFDs on more than 2,600 instruments across shares, forex, indices, commodities and ETFs, all from one account. Under FCA rules, retail leverage runs from 30:1 on major currency pairs down to 2:1 on some shares, and clients cannot adjust it. Higher leverage is available only to clients reclassified as professional.

Real stocks and ETFs

XTB began offering real (non-CFD) stocks and ETFs to UK clients on 5 July 2023, covering up to 15 exchanges including the London Stock Exchange, NYSE and Deutsche Börse. Before that, its UK offer was CFD-only.

Savings and tax wrappers

XTB's UK site lists investment plans, interest on uninvested cash, a stocks and shares ISA and a Cash ISA. We did not open the terms for these products, so rates and limits are not given here.

xStation platform

Clients use XTB's web platform, xStation 5, and a mobile app. The pages we opened did not mention MetaTrader or other third-party platforms.

Fees and pricing

XTB's figures below come from its UK education page and its July 2023 UK launch article, both opened on 3 November 2026. We did not find a full fee table on the pages we opened.

Item What XTB publishes
Stocks and ETFs (real) 0% commission up to €100,000 of monthly turnover
Above €100,000 a month 0.2% commission, minimum £10 (UK page) or €10 (2023 article)
Currency conversion Up to 0.5%
CFD costs Spread; XTB does not publish figures on these pages
Overnight financing Charged on CFD positions held open; rates not given
Inactivity fee Not published on the pages we opened

The two pages disagree on the currency of the minimum commission above the monthly threshold. The account terms for your entity should be treated as the reference.

Markets, currencies and payment methods

XTB serves UK clients through XTB Limited in London, and the Cyprus entity has its own XTB Cyprus pages. XTB says it is present in 11 countries but did not list them on the pages we opened. Real stock coverage spans up to 15 exchanges in Europe and the US, per the 2023 launch article. Deposit methods and account currencies were not set out on the pages we opened.

XTB's UK education page says retail clients have negative balance protection, which caps losses at the amount deposited.

Regulation in brief

The rows below come from XTB's own regulatory and education pages. We could not open the FCA, CySEC or Polish registers directly from our research tools on 3 November 2026.

Entity Regulator Authorisation Reference Source
XTB S.A. Polish Financial Supervision Authority (KNF) Brokerage licence, granted 8 November 2005 DDM-M-4021-57-1/2005; KRS 0000217580 Company disclosure
XTB Limited (UK) FCA (UK) Authorised and regulated FRN 522157; company no. 07227848 Company disclosure
XTB Limited (Cyprus) CySEC (Cyprus) Cyprus Investment Firm 169/12 Company disclosure

XTB's regulatory page also warns about unauthorised firms using the XTB name, and mentions a former EEA-passported UK entity with the same name. Before opening an account, it is worth confirming the entity and reference on the FCA register or CySEC's list of Cyprus investment firms. Our guide on how to check a financial licence covers the steps, and our CySEC explainer covers the Cypriot regime.

Who it tends to suit

XTB is commonly used by retail clients in Europe and the UK who want CFDs and commission-free real shares and ETFs on one platform, within the monthly turnover limit. The ISA and Cash ISA may suit UK savers who want investing and cash under one login. Traders who rely on MetaTrader or cTrader may prefer brokers such as Pepperstone or IG, while Plus500 is another single-platform CFD provider. The forex and CFD hub lists every broker we cover.

What to check before signing up

  • Which XTB entity your account sits with: Poland, UK or Cyprus.
  • The retail loss figure for your entity, given the different figures shown across XTB's pages.
  • How close your monthly turnover will be to €100,000, the point at which share commission starts.
  • The currency conversion charge if your account and the share currency differ.
  • Overnight financing rates on any CFD you plan to hold.

Information only, not financial or investment advice. CFDs are complex instruments and come with a high risk of losing money rapidly due to leverage. You should consider whether you understand how CFDs work and whether you can afford to take the high risk of losing your money. XTB stated on 3 November 2026 that 74% of retail investor accounts lose money when trading CFDs with XTB Limited (UK), and 77% on its Cyprus pages.
