Ramp Network is a crypto payments company that lets people buy crypto with fiat and sell it back to a bank account or card, and lets wallets and apps embed that service through a widget and SDKs. It was founded in Warsaw in November 2017 and now also runs its own consumer app with a self-custodial wallet.

Crypto-assets are volatile and can lose value; this page describes products and does not recommend buying any asset. Ramp's website moved from ramp.network to rampnetwork.com, and older links redirect. For background, see our guide to crypto on-ramps.

How the platform works

A partner (a wallet, dApp or exchange) places Ramp's widget in its product. The user chooses an asset and a payment method, pays, and the purchased crypto is delivered to a wallet chosen by the user. Ramp states that it does not hold purchased crypto in a custodial account. For selling, the user picks a supported asset and receives fiat in a supported currency.

The widget runs in three modes, as described in Ramp's quick start:

  • Overlay: the widget opens above the partner's app, triggered through the SDK.
  • Hosted: a link to Ramp in a separate tab, needing no SDK.
  • Embedded: the widget is placed inside an element on the partner's page, which requires a container node in the configuration.

Native off-ramp flow

For off-ramp, Ramp documents a native flow in which the partner sends the crypto from its own wallet interface. The widget emits a send-crypto event with the asset, amount and receiving address. The partner shows its own confirmation screen, sends the funds and returns either a transaction hash or an error. The widget then shows a summary and status page. The documentation does not describe how the fiat payout happens after that step.

Products

Buying and selling crypto

Ramp's support page names three services: buying (on-ramp), selling (off-ramp) and swapping crypto for crypto, and says swaps are not offered in the EU. Its About page lists swaps across more than 1,200 pairs on 16 networks (as of April 2026). Ramp says it powers purchases inside partner wallets, including MetaMask and Trust Wallet, among over 250 partners.

Ramp app and wallet

According to the About page, an iOS and Android app launched in September 2025 and a multichain self-custodial wallet launched in April 2026. The support page says the wallet is powered by Turnkey. The 2025 review says the app is not available to customers based in the EU.

USDC Everyday Account

A stablecoin account launched in 2025 as a minimum viable product on Base, letting users top up, hold, swap, send and cash out (2025 review). The About page says the account moved to Stellar in August 2026. Availability excludes the EU.

Developer experience and integrations

Documentation at docs.rampnetwork.com covers web quick starts (HTML, React), SDK references, Android, iOS and React Native guides, a REST API reference with V2 and V3 sections, API keys, rate limiting, events, webhooks and a testing environment. The three web modes above suit most partners, and the native off-ramp flow adds callbacks per platform. Ramp's January 2025 MetaMask update shows an integration in practice: users can sell ETH and tokens held on layer 2 chains such as Optimism, Polygon and BNB Chain without first moving to Ethereum mainnet.

Regulation in brief

Ramp's licences page lists Ramp Swaps Ltd as an FCA-registered cryptoasset firm in the UK, Ramp Swaps LLC as a FinCEN-registered money services business with state money transmitter licences in the US, and Ramp Swaps (Ireland) Ltd as an authorised crypto asset service provider supervised by the Central Bank of Ireland under MiCA. Ramp's own pages give different dates for the Irish authorisation (12 April 2025 on its announcement post, December 2025 on the About page), so check the official register. Ramp's support page notes that UK registration is not FCA regulation of the product and that the Financial Services Compensation Scheme and Financial Ombudsman Service do not apply. See our MiCA explainer and the guide to checking a financial licence.

Who it tends to suit

Ramp Network is commonly used by wallets and dApps that want buy and sell flows inside their product, including a native off-ramp experience. Consumers may meet it through partner wallets or its own app, where available. Other providers worth checking include MoonPay and Transak; see our Ramp Network vs MoonPay comparison and the crypto hub.
